Looking at contents pages

Now I need to make a contents page for my school magazine...

I have been looking on google for examples of contents pages I liked. These are some of them.

I chose them because the layouts are interesting and bold.

I don't think either of these would really work for a school magazine though. I think there should be some colour too because my front cover is colourful.
